Hey Coffeeholics! After several years, Blogapalooza is back! I really enjoyed the first Blogapalooza event. It seems like it was just a year ago when I attended the first Blogapalooza and I met and gained new friends and gained new connections because of it. Indeed it is a great opportunity for us bloggers to meet other brands and companies all in one place!

Blogapalooza 2013 happening on November 16, Function Room 1, SMX Aura, 11-9 p.m.
So what is Blogapalooza? Blogapalooza is a community. It's a link between big and small businesses who have something cool to share and the online community of people who love to share. Blogapalooza is a blogger event on crack! Lots of giveaways for the bloggers and online community and a chance for big and small businesses to present their product/brand/thingamajig to hundreds of influential bloggers and online social media influencers.

And so my dear blogger friends, if you haven't signed up for this yet, well don't miss out! Check out Blogapalooza to sign up. There are still some slots left. Malay nyo makasama pa kayo. :) And to our partner companies and brands who are interested in presenting to a whole bunch of bloggers, well here's your chance! Sign up to be part of Blogapalooza 2013. Hope to see you all there!

Celebrating World Teachers' Day | Galileo Enrichment Learning Program Giveaway

World Teachers' Day is on October 5 and would you believe that I had no idea about it! UNESCO started the annual World Teachers' Day October 5, 1994 and has continued the tradition since then. If you visit the World Teachers' Day website, listed there are several ways on how you can celebrate this event. You can also share your photos at their site on how you celebrated World Teachers' Day. You can also send an e-card to teachers on their site. Here in the Philippines, I know that some give their teachers gifts such as flowers, chocolates, or a hand made card by their students. I know this coz I remember getting them when I was teaching preschool almost 8 years ago as my first teaching job. But I tend to forget the date so I was caught by surprise yesterday.

I only found out when several people messaged me or tweeted me a greeting. I thought it was a joke or a prank but I was later convinced when some parents greeted me. You have to forgive me though coz I haven't been online that much lately. The recent typhoons wreaked havoc on our internet at home and was only able to have it up and running like last night. So yeah, I was totally clueless! So basically I ended up "celebrating" World Teachers' Day by doing what all teachers are supposed to do -- teach! hihi. I was also quite caught up guiding one of my students in knitting an Afghan. I'm also teaching some students in the Needles and Thread craft (crochet, knitting, embroidery, and cross-stitch).

But seriously, I love being a teacher! Even though I'm now also exploring the world of blogging and writing, teaching has always been my passion. I must admit that one of the main reasons why I got into teaching was because of MY teachers while I was still in high school. They were not there just to teach me concepts and help me in my learning but they were also there to teach me many other things that could not be learned from text books. One thing that really struck me was the way they showed that they really cared! I was quite close to one of my teachers during high school and I valued very much the advice that he gave me, the short stories with moral lessons that he would share in the morning, and the way he treated each student that showed how much he personally cared about our lives. My mom was a elementary public school teacher as well. I saw her passion, love, concern, and dedication to her students by doing things that are over and beyond "the call of duty" so to speak. I remember how she shelled out her own money and asked help from other people so that all the students in her class would have a seat and a table! All of this inspired me to try my best to be like them now that I'm a teacher myself. I want my students to enjoy their high school life the same way I enjoyed mine. I know the journey to absolutely achieve that isn't easy but I am giving my best! I hope that by truly caring for each student will help make a difference or at least inspire them as much as my own teachers inspired me. I've been a teacher for 8 years already and LOVING IT! So I just want to give a shout out to all the teachers out there! Happy World Teachers' Day!

So of course to commemorate this event, I am giving away a FREE 2-WEEK SCHOLARSHIP coupon of the MATH or ENGLISH Enrichment Program from Galileo Enrichment Learning Program.

I learned about Galileo Enrichment Learning Program at the Blogapalooza event held by wheninmanila.com last month. They caught my interest when they mentioned that they would be hosting the Singapore Math Learning Festival this October 8. (The tickets to the Festival are already SOLD OUT though!) I wasn't able to register and now I wish I had since one of the sessions was about "Making Geometry Easy with Singapore Math" which would have really been handy in my classroom. Anyway, the Galileo Enrichment Learning Program and its centers aim to help EMPOWER LEARNERS by PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES for learning enrichment that will make them INDEPENDENT, LIFE-LONG LEARNER. They make learning sound so much fun and present it in such a way to capture the interest of the learner. They use a new and different way of learning to capture the interest and inspire mastery to the students! Isn't that awesome? Who doesn't want to h

This Coupon entitles you to a Free 2-Week Scholarship of the
Math or English Enrichment Program!
Coupon is valid only until December 31, 2011
You have to call up the Galileo Head Office to set center appointment.
Anyway, since I don't have my own kids yet, I decided that the best thing that I can do is give it away to you guys! The mechanics are very simple:

Blogapalooza - A Blogger Experience

When I started blogging, I didn't think that I'd be influencing people by my thoughts and opinions. I started blogging with the purpose of letting my voice be heard. All I knew was that I wanted to write and express myself online. And somehow that journey has led me here as a fashion/beauty/events/teaching blogger. When I applied to Blogapalooza, I really wanted to get in. I have been blogging for some time and have been quite grateful with the opportunities that has come by my way. But I knew that if I get in Blogapalooza, I would be diving in to a whole new world of opportunities. Thus the Blogapalooza event is indeed a boon for bloggers out there.

"Blogapalooza hopes to bring these influencers to help them get their fix of the newest, latest, trendiest and coolest products / services / thingamajigs out in the market today."

And boy did they DELIVER on their promise. So I'm really grateful that I got in. Many thanks to Vince Golangco and Team When in Manila for making all of this possible! I learned so much and met new people during the event.

Daily Fashionista and Brew of the Day
So first things first, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Daily Fashionista (Ms. D! lol!) for letting me, Jen, and Gel hitch a ride with her. I must say, her driving skills are impressive. Thank you for being SUPER and getting us to the venue almost just in time. Also, I really am super kilig that I finally met you. AND your wonderful CHANEL BAG. Haha. I saw Ms. D using her spy bag cam skills and I'm quite impressed.

Back to the event - The First Blogapalooza Event was held at FULLY BOOKED at The Fort. Not only is it  one of the most wonderful places of the world (kaisensei is a bookworm.. haha!) but they also have STARBUCKS on one of their floors. Its like a 3 - in - 1 treat -- Books, Starbucks, AND Blogapalooza. That's one slice of heaven right there. Unfortunately, I couldn't let myself wander around the store nor sip some much needed java at Starbucks coz I had an event to attend. So off we trotted to the 5th floor.

I'm number 67.  Taken by my cel cam.
First things first is the REGISTRATION. Its very important that you register yourself coz the Blogapalooza event was by invite only. Also, you could only claim your loot bag with your name tag given at the event. The ID also has a number on it which serves as your raffle prize number. Cool noh? Unfortunately, I didn't win.

I'm a PROUD MEMBER of the Blogapalooza community!
Oh yeah, they had this huge tarp with all our blog urls posted on it. That was super cool. The first blog name that really caught my attention was Anagon's (lower right hand corner)! hihi. Then I found mine.

You can also see Daily Fashionista's url here. I think they posted everything in alphabetical order.
Since it was around lunch time already, we were getting a bit hungry. Let me just again reiterate how awesome Blogapalooza is for also providing yummy food at the event! I was so hungry I completely forgot to take PHOTOS of the food. But it was from Italianni's and it was divine. We also had free drinks (which were delicious) care of Healthy First. I love it!

After eating, we roamed around a bit. And took photos of the place and some of the sponsors who had booths. I will be making a more specific post later on about the sponsors. :)

And here's the venue while the place wasn't still jam packed. Haha. Once the event started, I barely could the stage coz everyone was standing or trying the best to take photos of the stage. It was really exciting and awesome to finally meet everyone whom I only read online. So check out some of Blogapalooza's Influential Bloggers!

Blog Updates and Boutique Nayeli on Sale

Hey Coffeeholics! I apologize for my ninja stealth mode lately. I have been super busy last weekend and dead tired these past few days. Whenever I get home, I end up "lying down" for a second then completely fall into a deep sleep and wake up in the morning just in time for school. *sighs* My night time blogging session has been "fail" lately but I intend to remedy that soon.

And oh boy do I have a lot of things to share! Last Saturday's activities has been so fun and quite awesome that just downloading the pics, editing it, and sharing them all is gonna take some time (ack!) which I don't have much.. huhu. I am overwhelmed by the wonderful time I had spent with fellow bloggers at the Blogapalooza event by WhenInManila.com. It was a great time for us to meet up, get to know each other, and open doors of opportunities presented by the various business partners who went there. I am excited by the possibilities and I am looking forward to interacting with them quite soon.  Now just in case you missed out last Blogapalooza, don't fret! I hear that we should expect more events to come. Not only that, some of you might even get a chance to win the same loot that we got during the event! So please tune in to blogapalooza.wheninmanila.com to stay informed and updated on the upcoming events.

After that, me and Jen taxied our way over to the Converse Event at Eastwood City Mall! It was the grand opening of their brand new Converse store there and we were given a chance to check out what Converse has in store for us this holiday season. I will be posting about the awesome time I had there soon!

And last but not the least, I was informed this week by Boutique Nayeli that they are having an Early Holiday Offer! Buy 1 gray and take 1 bleach for only Php 1,600. With this, its like you got each pair of pants at Php 800 each. Can't afford to buy both? Then I suggest buy a set with your friend. Its more affordable if you split the bill with a friend. So if you want it, I suggest you go visit Boutique Nayeli and fill up the form as soon as possible. As far as I know, sale will run as long as supply lasts. :)

Now Coffeeholics who are still on a tight budget, never fear! I still have something for you! (haha I feel like I'm starting to sound like an infomercial! LOL) No but seriously, if you really want a pair FOR FREE, I suggest you go and click on the pic above for my giveaway. You might just win for yourself your own pair of bleach biker skinny jeans from Boutique Nayeli. Check out my previous post about Boutique Nayeli where Shopgirl Jen poses and shows off her Nayeli Jeans. There are a lot of sizes available. So go check out boutiquenayeli.multiply.com for more info.

So there you have it dears! A short summary of what's happening at Brew of The Day lately. I will be posting a whole lot more about all of these on the next posts. So do wait for that.
The weekend is just around the corner.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Mwah!
