Converse Asia Crown: Ready, Skate, Go!

Converse Asia Crown: Ready, Skate, Go!

Last March 31, I was privileged to attend the country's first and biggest skateboarding event, dubbed Converse Asia Crown at the Trinoma Mindanao open parking lot as it aimed to promote skateboarding as a thriving sports in the Philippines.

Catering to the best skateboarders around the Metro, the Asia Crown gave Filipino skateboarders the chance to show off their dope moves on the board and compete with the best of the best skateboarders across the country to vie for the title of being the first official skateboarding ambassador of Converse Philippines who gets to compete internationally and is also set to compete in the upcoming skate event in China.

Top US-based pro skaters Kenny Anderson and Mike Anderson also graced the event and were set to show Filipino skaters how skateboarding is really done with their extremely polished skate tricks that seem effortless.

Meanwhile, Rasheed Al Rasheed was crowned as the local Asia Crown champion and received a year's worth of Converse skateboarding goodies, P50,000 cold hard cash and plane tickets to all official Converse skateboarding events worldwide. Jeff Gonzales got 2nd place and Miguel Madronio with 3rd place and respectively won P25,000 and Converse Merchandise.

Fashionable spectators, Converse Philippines will also feature a preview of their Spring Summer Collection, with their Spring Summer Collection, with an added shoe display, that embody Converse's mission of giving people the freedom to make a statement, by "continuing to adjust with time giving a great variety of styles, color, becoming more creative evolving to what they will become."

Skate Summit - Converse Asia Crown with Kenny Anderson and Mike Anderson

International Pro Skaterboarders to Grace Converse Phils. Asia Crown Skate Summit

Hey Coffeeholic Skaters! What better way to hold the country’s biggest Skate Summit than to let two of the world’s best pro skaterboarders to lead it?

This is exactly what Converse Philippines has in store for the hundreds of skateboard enthusiasts who are set to compete for the Converse Asia Crown title on March 31 at the Trinoma Mindanao Open Parking in Quezon City.

During the summit, US-based pro skaterboarders Kenny Anderson and Mike Anderson are set to show Filipino skaters how skateboarding is really done with their extremely polished skate tricks that seem effortless.

Kenny Anderson, who returns better than ever as an alumni to the Converse Skate Team (having been on the original team in 1997), is considered “untouchable” on a skateboard for his consistent style and fluidity; while for Mike Anderson’s part, his skating is often described as “effortless,” because he is said to make his tricks look as if was very easy to do.

Catering to the best skateboarders around the Metro, the Asia Crown aims to give Filipino skateboarders the chance to show off their dope moves on the board and compete with the best of the best skateboarders across the country.

More than bragging rights, the local Asia Crown skateboarding champion will be hailed as the first official skateboarding ambassador of Converse Philippines—That means a year of Converse skateboarding goodies, P50,000 cold hard cash, and plane tickets to official Converse skateboarding events worldwide.

An open skate for all, free of charge, the skate summit will also be a day-long celebration of physical recreation, while fusing music and the arts, to reinforce Converse Philippines’ position as a key proponent of the global sport that is skateboarding,

For interested registrants, check Converse Philippines Facebook page or visit www.converse.com.ph. Registration forms are available for download at the Converse Philippines’ Converse Asia Crown FB event page and in stores nationwide.

So don't forget to drop by the Converse Asia Crown event this Saturday at Trinoma! Check out the Converse Spring/Summer 2012 collection as well as it would be displayed there. See you all this Saturday!

OOTD - Emo in Converse Red Black and White

Top - Terranova
Denim Skirt - Thrifted
Sneakers - c/o Converse

Had this photo taken days before Valentines.. AND NO, I didn't wear this for a "pre-Valentine" look. haha. Nahh..
I just felt like putting on this getup to give homage to my college days emo look. haha!
Red Nail Polish ~ Maybelline
Watch - Timex
Accessories - c/o SM Accessories

Hey Coffeeholics! Yeah, its been a while since I've posted for my outfit diary. This month has been quite something for me. Just to clarify stuff, no I haven't been moping around hence my lack of posts on my blog. One thing led to another and well.. ta-da! No posts for sometime. LOL. The truth of the matter is, after the first week of Feb events, my laptop suddenly became out of commission due to the expiration of my antivirus subscription. It was several days before I was able to use my laptop again and then I got sick! As in almost a weekend of bedrest and lots and lots of sleep. This was all before Valentines day. Anyway, I survived. And believe it or not, actually celebrated what I call Hearts' Day (will post later about that) with my bffs. But this outfit post is NOT related to my being single and its the "valentines' month." (haha.. what's with all the mega denial?!)

My now favorite pair of sneakers! Black and Red just brings me back to my good ol emo days!

Anyway, this outfit was inspired by my Red & Black Converse shoes. I LOVE IT! You know how it is when you look at a pair of shoes and suddenly an outfit comes to life just by looking at those shoes? Well that's what happened to me here. I suddenly felt like I was warped back to my college days! hahaha! I wore this church feeling a lil bit like Avril Lavigne for some reason (its the sneakers.. ). And yes, several people who already had my sense of style pegged couldn't resist coming up to me and asked why I wore this outfit (because it wasn't me daw... Hahaha. Tuloy na feel ko para ako bang nag cocosplay? haha!) But it was an outfit that I found really comfy with and I felt like I was really having fun.. particularly with the red accents of my shoes and nails. Haha.. so yeah.. this is my ode to my good old emo college days.

So what about you Coffeeholics? Have you had a day when you find yourself wanting to dress up like the way you used to in your college or highschool years? Would it still be "appropriate"? Or are you wearing that kind of style even until now? Do you still have that favorite pair of sneakers/shoes of days gone by? Let me know your story!

Hope you have an awesome week!

mwah mwah,

Converse Eastwood Grand Opening

A week ago, I had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of Converse's brand new store at Eastwood Citywalk! Its just near The Blue Onion which was also the venue of their event during that night. I was able to go there with Jen. That particular Saturday was quite hectic since earlier that day we were at Fully Booked at the Fort for the Blogapalooza event. We decided to proceed with the event despite the rain and all and I'm so glad we did push through with it coz I would have missed out a lot! There were a lot of familiar shoes on display but a lot of new ones as well.

Different lengths and sizes and all sort of styles for those who want to make a statement.
Take your pic from low cut up to high cut chucks!

Even kids and cartoon or comic fans can express their love for Dr. Seuss and DC Comics by strutting around in your Converse.

Who would have thought that wearing sneakers can be so much fun!

I also like how you have the option to whether get the low or high cut of  a particular design.
Of course the purple one caught my attention! hihi!

And yes stuff on sale! Though I don't think its still sale now.

For the love of PRINT! Kiddie prints anyone?
Love the cool red bag!
Converse Bags sure look cool and comfy especially for those still in school!
Agree! For Chucks owners out there, how long have you had yours?
Its really durable diba!
And the following are some of my personal favorites:

This just looked SUPER COOL!
Peg - combat boots Converse style
White Converse Boots for the win!
Still the classic look always is a winner!
And yes take a good look at the red low cut one at the lower left pic!
That's the new modern look of Converse.
This however is my personal favorite! When I saw this I immediately showed it to Jen.
Its sooo cool coz its TRANSPARENT. You can wear cute socks inside PLUS its
resistant to rain. Now that's a cool feature right there!

After the extensive picture taking session, me and Jen went to THE BLUE ONION and we ate dinner there! This is what I ate:

Yes I know it looks like turon but its not. I totally forgot what its called but that's supposed to be chicken breast with pork (or was it bacon) in the center. And that's crunchy caramelized kamote chips on top.

I love the amazing interior of The Blue Onion. This is the entrance. It aptly fits its name diba?

Me and Jen stayed there for some time for the event to start. While waiting, we were able to meet and get to know other pinoy bloggers who also happened to be at the Blogapalooza event that day! I was quite happy to meet other bloggers of different niches. I hope I will be able to get to know them more and meet up with them in future events as well.

Jolaris , Me,  MarcoPolo, Gab,  Marco
The event started a bit late. We only stayed up til 12 midnight feeling very much like Cinderella. But it all ended well with Jen winning a prize during the raffle draw that night.

And the winner is..
SHOPGIRL JEN!
Kintarooe82 from thetechnoclast.com also won!  Pinoy bloggers for the win!
Had a great night and thank you very much Converse for inviting us and also for this cool red and black sneakers! I've been loving black and red colors lately and this really echoes the rocker emo chic look that I sometimes emulate. hihi!

So Coffeeholics! What are you waiting for? Grabe a pair of Converse for yourselves right now. They have this promo up til the end of September. You get a free tote bag for every Php 2000 worth of purchase on every regular priced items.
