Shakeys Gourmet Pizza - The Secret is in the Crust

One of the stories my mom would always tell us siblings is she and my dad would go out on a date at Shakey's when they were still in the boyfriend-girlfriend stage. hehe. Shakey's was a favorite date destination for my parents because they both absolutely LOVED the pizza because of the the super thin crust variant! And of course Shakey's has kept its tradition and its special brand of flavor all through out these years. Indeed the secret is in the crust! That's the new tagline of Shakey's Tasty Throwback: The New Pizza 1954.

Shakey's Pizza 1954 -- The secret's in the crust! Yum yum!
Why 1954? Well 1954 marked a great year for pizza with the launch of the first Shakey’s Pizza parlor in America. Year after year, Shakey’s iconic products have found a place in the hearts of Guests who frequent their beloved pizza parlor. This time around, Shakey’s brings a unique dish to the table; a secret recipe perfected over time.

Last May, I was able to attend the media launch of this new gourmet pizza that Shakey's has in store for us at the Shakey's Katipunan branch. The place was full of eager pizza lovers that couldn't wait to taste and find out why the new Shakey's Pizza 1954 is something that we should all be going crazy for.

I guess this particular pizza must be really special since this year also is the 60th year anniversary of Shakey's existence. Indeed that's probably why Shakey’s did introduce yet another amazing innovation with the latest addition to their line-up of beloved dishes. The new Shakey’s Pizza 1954 is a salute to the amazing taste that has built the brand and made Shakey’s a name in creating good times and great memories.

The Shakey's Pizza 1954 has this amazing soft doughy and incredibly tasty crust.. I swear I could probably eat the whole pizza! Its that yummy!
The new pizza joins other iconic products on their menu, giving Guests added variety. This time around, “the secret’s in the crust,” with a new chewy, soft, delectable dough base that is sure to leave mouths watering and appetites satisfied. Combined with the freshest ingredients, the new Shakey’s Pizza 1954 is the first contemporary gourmet pizza for Shakey’s Guests to know and love.

See that crust? It's definitely not the same as the thin crust type that Shakey's is well known for. But for me, this is more delectable! I swear!
Just seeing this picture again makes me hungry all over again.
“This is truly an innovation for Shakey’s since we are the first in the pizza category to offer contemporary gourmet pizza,” says Koi Castillo, Brand Manager for Shakey’s. “We will further develop this new category of Shakey’s pizza and create more iconic products for our Guests.”

PLUS the yummy smell of the herbs and spices used in this pizza makes you want to stuff yourself silly with it. The pretty basil leaves formed in a shape of a flower is a nice touch.
Indeed, the special touches to the new Shakey’s Pizza 1954 boast both quality and exceptional flavor combinations. Fresh Rosemary and Basil leaves, juicy morsels of Italian sausage and Angus beef, slices of Pepperoni, 100% Mozzarella cheese, savory red onions, and a sprinkling of Parmesan rest atop a yummy soft gourmet dough crust of another tantalizing Shakey’s original.

A certified standout with its unique crust and hearty mix of the finest ingredients, the new Shakey’s Pizza 1954 retains the classic Shakey’s spirit while staying true to the times. The new Shakey’s Pizza 1954 (Php. 450) is currently available in all Shakey’s restaurants, nationwide.

Thank you so much Shakey's for having me! I really enjoyed the event and the delicious pizza. Can't wait to bring my mom and dad back to Shakey's and let them taste the Shakey's Pizza 1954 and make new happy memories. :) So coffeeholics, its now your turn to create happy memories at Shakey's! Do try out the Shakey's Pizza 1954! :)

Food Diary - Alaska Crema's Food Bazaar

Hey Coffeeholics! I can't believe its mid January already. Boy does time quickly pass us by. So just before we go celebrate the Chinese New Year, let me just share to you a food trip that I super enjoyed last Christmas -- the Alaska Crema's Food Bazaar.

One thing I really loved about last Christmas was that I was able to enjoy the festivities of creative dishes and mouth watering treats. Alaska Crema had a part in bringing the sweet and savory goodness into each feast with the Merry Crema's Food Bazaar held at Eastwood Open Park.

Lots of people lined up to indulge their sweet tooth cravings.
“Christmas is the perfect time to indulge our cravings and sweet tooth, what better way to do that but with our favorite salads, desserts and creamy dishes,” shared one of the Alaska Crema marketing head. “This food bazaar is also the best way we could thank our loyal customers and partner merchants for appreciating us – above all, during the most special time of each year - as they give Filipino families memorable Noche Buenas and holiday meals.”

I had loads of fun and of course a major sugar rush as I sampled all their specialty dishes that had Alaska Crema in it. I took lots and lots of photos which to my utter horror most were corrupted on my phone (my phone is dying on me huhu.. wont bluetooth or upload photos or connect to the usb port) Anyway I was able to rescue a few photos. So here are some of the yummy desserts I was able to take during the event.

Yes my first stop was Chef Hasset Go's MEDCHEF stand. I've tasted his yummy cakes and desserts before which I love! Yes fan ako. haha. :)

For the Alaska Crema Specialty Dish he had his chocolate cake
have this caramel sauce that was made from Alaska Crema.
Yumyumyum. :)

Baked Bites NUTELLA ROCKS are divine!!!
(I mean hello.. that's NUTELLA!)

They used Alasak Crema for their Dulce De Leche Pecan Cheesecake.
Grabe.. super rich! Lav it!

Cakes and Bakes Alaska Crema Specialty Dessert

Bite Contemporary Cuisine offered food and soup that had Alaska Crema in it.

Party Time Philippines even had Bacon Carbonarra with Alaska Crema for us to taste!
That was a good way to divert out palate from all the sweet things we ate!

Alchemy Macaroons also had tiny macaroons for samplers. I loved this colorful treat!

I have some more photos but can't upload it coz of cellphone problems. huhu. Sayang I wasn't able to upload one of my favorite desserts that I tasted which I think won in the Top 3 desserts during the bazaar which was the Salted Caramel Cream Cheese Brownie!

Anyway, Notable disc-jocks Chico and Delamar hosted the fantastic afternoon, filled with wonderful treats for participants and spectators. They visited each booth and sampled it, they hosted games which some of my blogger friends joined in (oh I was happy to be a spectator that day).  Happy that I was able to take a photo with the disc-jocks Chico and Delamar whom I've been listening to since I was in college (or high school ba?) hehe.

With Shopgirl Jen, Jing Javier, Delamar, and Chico and Sofi and Me! Yay!

In between food, fun and games, merrymakers were also serenaded with traditional Christmas songs by the Intervoices Chorale, as they sang heart-warming renditions of traditional Filipino Christmas hymns; while, special guest Yeng Constantino provided mainstream entertainment for all with the best-known Christmas songs and carols.

Capping the night off was a fireworks display that lighted up the Eastwood sky.  The spectacle was Alaska Crema’s delightful way of greeting everyone a scrumptiously happy and gloriously bright holiday season.

Thank you so much Alaska Crema for having me at your event!
I left with a happy tummy and my cravings for sweet satisfied.

So how about you Coffeeholics? What favorite sweet treat you ate last Christmas? Or still crave today? Let me know! Do comment below. Have a great weekend!

Super happy that they have LAMB at Dads! Yumyum!

Grabe so many choices and the best part is.. its all in one place na lang!

And this is my first plate! hehe. Tikim tikim muna ng mga bagong dishes!

Celebrate your birthdays or other special occasions here! At DADs you can request for them to serenade you or your loved ones and you can even ask them to sing your favorite or latest song! Updated ang song playlist nila oh diba? Don't forget to give a tip! Hehe.`
If you hear them play and sing its worth it promise. :)

Feast on Salad or Tempura!

Of course at DADs, one of the favorite food that I love to eat there is their Saisaki fare. Yumyum!

At DADs, the whole middle section of their restaurant is now brimming of tables and areas for the various food for the World Buffet! Yes that means some of the seating area in the middle has been lessened. But don't worry, DADs took care of that concern and have included more chairs and tables outside.

Don't forget to leave some room in your tummy for DESSERT! They have all sorts of dessert - from native Filipino desserts to cakes to Crepes! I really like the desserts at DADs. :)

Yeah yeah.. of course I had to get my own crepe. They will make one for you at the dessert station. Just need to be patient and wait for yours to be done. :)

Indeed, there are so many flavors to explore at the new DADS World Buffets. And the best part is, this irresistible medley of multiple cuisines is affordably priced at Php 638 Monday to Friday LUNCH, Php688 Monday to Friday DINNER and Php748 on weekends and holidays, which already includes Saisaki and Kamayan buffets, as well as bottomless and interchangeable drinks, from shakes and juices, to iced tea and soft drinks. I think this is one of the most affordable buffets especially now with their new and many dishes to choose from.
